Using your Chromebook in the Classroom

Using your Chromebook In the classroom

To begin, power on the Clevertouch screen by  pressing the power button on the bottom right hand side of the screen.

Then, place your Chromebook on the riser, and open it up to power it on.

Once the Clevertouch screen and Chromebook are both powered on, plug the USB C cable into the left hand side of your chromebook. Your Chromebook screen may briefly turn off and then on whilst its connecting to the screen.

Your Chromebook is now connected to the

board and docking station.

You'll notice that the device will be charging, the WiFi icon will be replaced by a wired icon (shown below) and the external keyboard and mouse will be usable. The audio from your Chromebook will automatically play through the Clevertouch speakers.

Troubleshooting - Connectivity to the Clevertouch screen

If you find you have any issues with signal to the Clevertouch screen or the dock (i.e. the device isn't charging), simply disconnect the USB-C cable from your Chromebook, wait a second and then and reconnect it.

Using a visualiser with the docking station

In classrooms that have visualisers permanently the visualiser will remain plugged into the docking station as shown below. If you are bringing a visualiser to a classroom then plug it into the front of the docking station as shown.

The Ipevo visualiser app can be found in exactly the same place as on the desktops (shown below) Link: https://apps.ipevo.com/pwa/visualizer.app/

If you want to make the visualiser image full screen then you can toggle this on and off using the button on your chromebook shown below.

What should be connected to the back of the dock?

See below diagram showing what to expect to be plugged into the docking stations. If any of these are missing, it is likely causing the issues you are experiencing (i.e. no network connectivity, no touchscreen on the board)

What should be connected to the side of the Clevertouch screen?

In all rooms (apart from Rm54, as this has two boards) - the below diagram shows all the connections required into the board.
If one of these is not connected, then you will likely not have signal/touchscreen functionality.
