Navigating the screen
During the summer break we overhauled and replaced all of the North Hall A/V equipment. Its all setup ready to use however should you come across a couple of issues, here are some common fixes.
Connecting your device to access the sound system
Connect your device to the docking station using the USB-c audio output as shown. The system is ready to go and set to the school’s proper volume and usage requirements. Please do not attempt to adjust the sound via the AV box. Adjust the sound on your own device!
Microphones
We have two wireless microphones that can be used.
The Site Assistant on duty can unlock the microphones for you and provide extra batteries should you need them.
To turn the microphones on, hold the white button on the bottom until it turns green (see picture on the left). The microphone is initially muted.
To use, slide the switch under the small screen to the green setting. This unmutes the microphone (in the picture on the right, the left mic is still muted but the right one is now on and in use.)
Please make sure that you always turn both the top and the bottom buttons OFF when you are finished using the microphones, or the batteries will drain too quickly.
Lowering the projection screen
Using the remote by the curtain on stage,
raise (top button/up arrow)
or lower (third button down/down arrow)
the projector screen by pressing the buttons indicated. Do not need to hold them down as this will then put the screen lowering in manual control and will lead to the projection being misaligned with the screen. If you do find you've done, just press the raise button and let the screen complete its movement, then press the lower button.
Turning the projector on
Turn on the projector using the control box found just below the screen control remote. Just press the green button labelled on and then after a few seconds the projector will turn on.
Turning the projector off
Turn off the projector by pressing the red off button on the control box underneath the screen control remote. This will turn off the projector pretty much instantly.
Accessing the AV Equipment
The AV system is located in the cupboard in Gym2, to the right hand side of the PE Office.
The door may be locked, and can be unlocked using the south master key.
Connecting your device
To begin, connect your chromebook to the dock, using the USB-C cable.
Turn on the screens
To turn on the dual screens, press the highlighted white 'ON' button for 5 seconds.
The screens will then turn on momentarily.
To turn it off, hold the 'OFF' button for 5 seconds.
Accessing the microphones
The microphones are locked in a lockbox situated to the left of the AV cabinet.
The combination has been sent to all staff, however if you do require the code please email itsupport@cherwellschool.org
To close the door again:
1. Make sure the mics are secure in their mounts
2. Twist the handle back to the locked position and scramble the numbers.
Using the microphones
To turn the microphones on, hold the white button on the bottom until it turns green (see picture on the left). The microphone is initially muted.
To use, slide the switch under the small screen to the green setting. This unmutes the microphone (in the picture on the right, the left mic is still muted but the right one is now on and in use.)
Please make sure that you always turn both the top and the bottom buttons OFF when you are finished using the microphones, or the batteries will drain.
Leaving the AV equipment
Please make sure to turn off the microphones, turn the screens off and lock both the microphone lockbox and the main door when finished with the equipment.
